India — Introduction

Enjoy a riot of colour and a taste of the exotic in India, a country whose spirit runs through its incredible landscape.

India is an intoxicating assault on the senses with vivid countryside, exciting cities, and a culture so varied and rooted in tradition it’s easy to be swept away.

India

From the brights of sari silks to the aquamarine of the Indian Ocean, India provides a cacophony of sights, sounds and smells that will leave you heady for more.

India’s heritage is remarkable in its variety and breadth – from sights like the Red Fort of Delhi to the Taj Mahal in Agra, and the sacred Ganges, it takes visitors on an incredible journey of history, spirituality and discovery.

But if relaxing under the shade of a palm is more what you look for on holiday, head to the beach haven of Goa. The state has 66 miles of beaches from lively to secluded. The influence of early Portuguese settlers is evident in the state’s colonial-style architecture and food – a mix of fresh Indian spices and Portuguese flavour.

Further along the coast, Kerala is a watery jewel in India’s crown set on a course of rivers and backwaters.
